Yup, runes, as in more than one. I decided today that rather than just pulling one I’d do a spread. I did a 5 rune pull and this is what I got. My focus was the usual as it has been these days, work related and building my business, etc.
Rune 1 – Rune of the Present that represents current problems, situations, state of mind.
Kenaz
Creativity, artistry, inspiration…the fire, both in the sense of inner fire and the first of the hearth and harrow, the forge. Presently my focus is very much on creativity and artistry, as far as my work goes, writing and all that as well. Inspiration has also been a big thing. I’ve been doing a lot to connect with other magickal practitioners, occultist and especially psychics and mediums lately because many of them have been giving me a lot of inspiration to strive for something better in what I do. Of course this has also lead me to feeling like I’m not as “advanced” or as far along in my path as I’d like to be. So in a sense it’s maybe created a little bit of a block in a sense.
Rune 2 – Rune of the Past, what was in the past that has caused the current situation.
Gebo
The threefold Divine Gift of Odin – consciousness, divine breath, and form. Give and take, exchange, generosity and hospitality in both giving and receiving. Receiving great credit and honor for something and finding ways to share that with others. This certainly does speak to why I am where I am…if it wasn’t for the gifts that I have and the credit that I’ve been given by others in the past I wouldn’t be in a position to work with it on a professional level and I wouldn’t feel the need to share it with others in the various forms that I do (sometimes in teaching but mostly in healing and reading).
Rune 3 – Help that you can expect to receive with regards to the problem at hand.
Hagalaz
Reunion of polar opposites, transformation within the cosmos, completion. This transformation comes from some sort of crisis, sometimes controlled and almost self-impossed and other times (and more likely) from something outside of your own control. This of course is not something that may bode well, nobody likes a crisis! This also talks about not paying attention to warnings that there could be sudden change coming so you can be caught off guard. Either way changes are coming that you can’t control and that are going to transform the situation. I have a hard time getting much of an impression on what this could mean…I don’t know what sort of crisis could come about with my work that would lead me to having some forced transformation, be it a good or bad one. So I guess the jury will be out on this one until I see some of these signs of warning but at least I’ll keep an eye out.
Rune 4 – The aspects of the problem that must be accepted and cannot be changed.
Laguz
Difficulties and trials ahead, experience of true initiation and a transition from one state of being to another. Personal growth through possibly uncomfortable circumstances. This is another one that’s interesting and given the rune before it, Hagalaz, I would say that whatever the changes are that are coming are really going to be big and are going to be unavoidable. With the rune of Laguz being associated with water one of the other elements of this rune is that of psychic energy, psychic ability and the tides of the unconscious mind. So together it makes me think that there could be some growth, changes, transitions or initiatory experiences within the psychic realms to come that will be quite changing and unavoidable.
Rune 6 – The Outcome
Mannaz
Intelligence born of divine or higher knowledge, awakening, blinders being removed and seeing things as they really are, feelings of being not just an individual but connected to humanity. Again, interesting. I would say that whatever it is that is going on that has been having me questioning things and feeling sort of like the “lone man out” in a lot of stuff will come to an end and everything with work and my path here will start to work themselves out…probably after whatever this big change is that’s coming! This also makes me think that maybe I’ll be finding some others to connect with, hopefully locally, since that would be really great. I so feel like this is all going to smooth out after some possible bumps in the road.
