Here’s something that popped into my head yesterday when I had my Crystal Reiki Master attunement done. I thought I’d throw it out there for discussion for those that might like to share some thoughts. I haven’t quite finished composing my own yet so I’ll respond later as well.
The question is:
Once you’ve been attuned to the Akashic Records though either your Reiki Master training or other energy attunements, if you do psychic work, do you think it’s ok to access the Akashic Records of someone you’re reading for or is that an ethical violation of their privacy?
I’m leaning one way…I bet you can’t guess where. What are your thoughts?
Mood: sleepy

I say their records are fair game. To be a complete reading you need to cover everything. To know how to heal or help you need to know their state of being in all areas. If you were to not do so you are doing them a disservice. I feel that by coming to you the person is willingly giving themselves to you and nothing is off limits if in the end the result benefits them in the best way possible.
I believe we access their Akashic Records anyway without knowing it. It just as we become more intune and attuned that we’re able to do it with a purpose. I think that could be the reason that new psychics get flashes of things that they weren’t looking for. Plus, if the person is asking for a reading…then they’re asking to be read, to me that would include the records.
You both make some excellent points! I think that for me it comes down to level of importance. I think that the Akashic Records are really something of a special and somewhat private nature. I think that also you have to consider that most people aren’t aware of what the Akashic Records are and I sometimes wonder with some clients I work with if they would want them accessed if they knew what was held in them.
To me healing is always a reason to access the them, especially if dealing with someone that has a very serious mental/emotional problem or a chronic illness that might have some deeper meaning behind it. But when someone comes to me looking for a reading and wanting to know about the truth to suspensions that their spouse is cheating on them or something like this, I don’t feel accessing the records is necessary or, to some degree, the right thing to do.
It’s unfortunately that probably about 80% of the clients I deal with for readings (as opposed to healing work) are not seeking readings of a spiritual nature or to change their lives per se. Many are looking for more materialistic readings, as I call them (wanting to know if they’re going to get a raise, wanting to know when they’ll meet someone new, or wanting to know if someone is cheating on them or talking about them behind their back). It could be argued that many times this information isn’t the real information that a client truly wants or information that will truly help them. And when dealing with clients online like I often do, they don’t want a “complete reading” as you put it Gaidren, they want quick and cheap yet accurate. Someone might want to know if their partner is being unfaithful but they don’t know what to know why or what they can do to change the situation they just want to know the yes/no answer and then they’ll go and handle it however they see fit (sadly I fear mostly in a knee-jerk reaction sort of way). So unless someone comes to me with a real, serious need and desire to change their life through the information gained in a session, I don’t both with the Akashic Records. Healing work is a whole other issue though.
As for accessing the records without knowing it…I don’t know. I think that when you’re pulling information through the psychic senses such as getting information clairvoyantely, I don’t feel it’s necessarily coming from the Akashic Records. Since that’s where it’s all stored you could argue that this is it’s ultimate source but I think there’s a big difference between clairvoyant information and actively and purposefully accessing the records for yourself or someone else.
