Lakshmi

Lakshmi is the Hindu Goddess of abundance and prosperity. Her name is pronounced LOCK-shmee, which can something be a little tricky for some going based on how it’s spelled. Lakshmi also possesses qualities of wisdom, fertility, generosity, courage and beauty. She is a consort of Vishnu, one of the primary Hindu Gods, and during different incarnations she was married to both Rama and Krishna at different times. Lakshmi also works with the God Ganesh, another deity tied to prosperity. Working with them together in ritual and prosperity magick and be quite powerful.

The message that Lakshmi beings is one of being open to a brighter future. It’s time to let go of negative thinking and worries. Like we’ve talked about before, it’s all fine and good to say that you want to be prosperous, but it’s a whole other to think prosperous thoughts. Sometimes we hang on to our worries, our fears and our negative patterns of thinking because either it’s just what has become easy and comfortable or we are truly afraid of what will happen if we find success and get what we want. With Lakshmi you can certainly get whatever it is that you wish if you call on her, but you need to be ready for the chance that it will bring.

So, now comes to the big question. What is it that you want to be successful with? What is keeping you blocked from finding prosperity? One way that you can work with Lakshmi’s great power for prosperity is to call on her to with you through affirmations. By refusing to think negatively and focusing on positive thoughts and positive energy, and asking Lakshmi to help you with those thought pattern transitions, you will find yourself able to not only be open to receiving prosperity but also to actually finding it manifesting for you.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. Don’t force yourself to be a perfectionist. Forgive yourself if you feel you’ve done something to cause your own lack of prosperity and success. Sometimes our own projection of fear and worry is the only real block in our way and by working with Lakshmi in this way we can clear those blocks away and see abundance manifest.
