Touch, Exchange, Connection

In this card we see a young and handsome faerie man who crouches down and touches the earth.  While seemingly a simple act it is an act of empowerment symbolizing the deep connection between male and female energy.  The message here is one about the need for connection and exchange through touch, whether human to human, faerie to human, or even human to earth.  The act of touching is an act of exchange.  You’re touching another person and giving them your energy and in exchange you’re receiving their energy as well.  We are well aware of the therapeutic benefits of touch, especially on those with mental and physical health problems.  Massage and Reiki therapists, as well as others that practice forms of therapeutic touch, frequent areas of hospitals that treat those with terminal illnesses, cancer patients and those dealing with trauma because the act of receiving touch and the energy from the touch, helps to bring healing on different levels to the body.  While it might not cure an illness or condition it can certainly make the process of healing or the transition into another phase of life easier for the recipient.

Acorn’s Invitation reminds you that touch is crucial for your energy, your health and your spiritual well being.  This can be touch in a sexual sense but it’s deeper than the idea of sex for sex’s sake.  It’s the kind of sexually charged connection that brings two people into a higher, spiritual connection.  But this touch can also be the exchange that happens when you pet a cat or a dog, hold a baby, hug a friend, or just lay flat on the earth feeling the earth’s energy.  Today take time to experience touch on a deeper level.  Think about touch in a deeper and more spiritual level.  Consider the fact that when you touch another you’re giving them a piece of yourself just as they are giving you a piece of them.  Think about how by touching the earth you can bond and connect stronger to the element of the earth and the feminine energy of the Goddess.  Realize that touch is more than just what it seems on the surface.
