If you had 8 weeks to learn tarot…

If you had 8 weeks to learn tarot, what would you want to learn, or rather hope to learn, in those 8 weeks?  As some of you know I’m working on my tarot book that is long overdue, but in the process I was directed by my Guides to start developing a class on tarot to be taught online to help directly teach those who might be looking to learn in more direct way rather than just through a book.  The online class will be similar but yet different from the book just because of it’s very nature, but also because working directly with a small group of people will change the dynamic of what will be learned.  I’m in the process of creating an outline and writing up initial lessons but I’m very curious to know what people would want to learn.  So if you were to take an 8 week class on tarot, with the goal being that you’ll be reading with confidence by the end of week 8, what would you specifically hope or expect to learn in that time?  Feel free to share your thoughts or ideas here in the blog comments or you can email me privately and I’ll be happy to hear your suggestions!  More details and news about the class will be coming and I expect to see the class launching at the end of October.

I'd love to learn how to interpret freely, see the meaning, timing etc. immediately. Not look it up in a book or notes. But I guess that implies having the right deck.

    • The idea of reading without memorizing or having to look things up is a big part of what I'm going to be teaching. I think you definitely hit the nail on the head though with the idea of the "right deck". I think that is something that we'll be sure to cover and discuss in the very first week.

Some I've seen read the reversals of card,s others do not..would like to know about differences and which layout would be more beneficial regarding certain queries(is there one?)..How does one choose a deck? Are some easier than others to read from? This are just some that came to mind immediately as I read your blog.

    • - To reverse or not reverse…that will definitely be covered in the class since I'm one of those people that doesn't always read the reversals.

      - Spreads…everyone in the class will learn to do 4 different types of spreads and I will be taking time to talk about how to create your own spreads as well.

      - Choosing a deck…that will be part of week one because before week two you will have to have a deck to use for the rest of the class. :)

      Thanks!!

I agree with Linda. I am new to tarot and loving every detail of it. How much do you think this class will run? I am very interested in taking it when it starts up.

    • I haven't considered the cost of the class just yet though I do know I will offer some flexibility with an early enrollment special and a payment plan offer so that people that really want to take the class will be able to. As I develop the class more I'll be able to determine a cost. :)
