Merry Meet and Welcome!

Thanks for coming by and visiting. I’m Rowan Pendragon and, as you have probably guessed, I’m a Witch! I’ve been practicing Witchcraft for over 20 years and have been solitary for a large part of the time, though I was involved in several covens in the past, including my own, where I served as High Priestess. Now I am quite content to practice at my own pace, taking care of my own personal needs and desires on my path, but still working with others through teaching, counseling, and healing. I truly enjoy helping others and this is why I do much of what I do, whether it’s teaching classes on the Craft or doing readings or healing work.

I love to write and you’ll find that I am here writing in my blog quite often. I’m almost always working on a book of some sort and hopefully one of these day my very ADD personality will allow me to finish one!

I constantly have my nose in a book…or 4…and I am always reading non-fiction it seems. It takes a great deal for fiction to hold my attention so usually when you hear me reviewing books or talking up an author it’s most likely someone who writes on the metaphysical or magickal in a non-fiction sense. I do love historical fantasy and books like “Mists of Avalon”, but then what modern Witch doesn’t? Yes, I know, plenty.

 

I am also an aging Goth. I say that because I don’t go clubbing anymore, I don’t dress in frilly dresses when I leave the house, and I don’t go clubbing anymore. I’m also too fat to fit into my club cloths now, so that’s another deterrent. But I still love the music, treat every day like it’s Halloween, and I do tend to be clad in black most of the time. If you were to see me in a sea of the other people living in Southern California, where I’m currently located, you’d probably point at me and say “HEY! I bet she used to be a Goth in the 90s.” And you would be correct! But I still consider myself to be a Goth now and I still have my Goth card in my wallet (because we actually did have those back in the day).

Like I said, I’m in SoCal, but I was born and raised in Connecticut and have spent my whole life in New England until a few years ago when my husband and I moved to San Diego, CA because of his job. Now it’s my life’s mission to get back east and move to Marblehead, MA.

So when you’re here reading my blog and looking at everything else I have going on here, you’ll find I’ll talk about Wicca, Witchcraft, Paganism, magick, metaphysics, tarot, all that. I talk about these things from the perspective of a student, a teacher, and a practitioner. You’ll also find me talking about stuff in my own life, sometimes related to the Craft and sometimes completely off topic. Originally I didn’t include that sort of stuff in this blog and had a whole separate one for personal stuff, but I’ve come to a point where I don’t have the time to write in two blogs, and if this is supposed to be “One Witch’s Way”, it only makes sense to add my personal stuff here too. This blog ultimately comes down to the fact that everything here is all stuff from the personal perspective of one Witch, me.
