The Twelve House Spread
This spread is a pretty common and popular new year spread.  You draw one card for each of the twelve astrological houses to gain insight for those areas of your life for the next year.

1st House – SELF – Represents you, your personality, character, and physical body.  Gives an idea of the person’s outlook on life for the next year.

2nd House – MONEY – Represents your values, priorities, how you handle and approach money, and how you approach the idea of materialism.

3rd House – MIND – Represents intellectual interests, communication, self-expression, and education.

4th House – HOME – Represents relationships with family of origin, and matters at home.

5th House – CHILDREN – Represents children but also our “brain children” such as artistic or creative projects, our talents, signs of hobbies and deep interests.

6th House – DUTY – Represents day to day areas of life including mundane responsibilities and our health.

7th House – RELATIONSHIPS – Represents partnerships and relationships of all kinds including work and business partners, romantic partners, even our enemies; conflicts including legal issues here.

8the House – INVESTMENT – Represents death and renewal, healing and sexuality, investments, inheritances, legacies and shared resources.

9th House – HIGHER SELF – Represents a person’s purpose and direction and their attitudes of philosophy, higher beliefs, and religion; also long distance travel.

10th House – CAREER – Represents our career and how we’re viewed publicly including issues of fame, honor, and authority.

11th House –FRIENDS – Represents non-family relationships, involvement with community, society, and acquaintances.

12th House – SECRET DESIRES – Represents person’s secrets, subconscious, dreams, and secret motives.

The Wheel of the Year
This spread is particularly popular with Pagans and is often used by a lot of people at Samhain to look into the start of the Witch’s New Year.  This is a simple spread where one card is pulled for each month and results in twelve cards being laid out.  Simply start with January and pull cards through to December.  Each card will represent the overall energy and patterns for that month.  I like to then add up the numbers for all the cards for the year and break them down into a single number which I then use numerology to get a read on the year as a whole.
Rowan’s New Year Tarot Spread
This spread was originally created for a client several years ago when they were looking for insight on five different things for the coming year.  This client wanted specifics but didn’t want five separate readings; she was looking to know the basics.  So I created this spread for her and have found that others have really enjoyed.  Hopefully it will give you some insight for your year as well!

For this reading you’ll be laying out five rows of four cards each. The five areas looked at are:

1. Health
2. Love
3. Work
4. Money
5. Dreams

The four cards each represent the same things for each area.  They are:

1. (Card 1)  What I can accomplish this year?
2. (Card 2)  What could hold me back?
3. (Card 3)  How I can reach my goals and work around obstacles?
4. (Card 4)  Advice for the year.

Each row is dedicated to a specific area of life and each of the four cards gives insight into that area for the year.  The layout looks like this:

(Health)     –1–2–3–4–
(Love)        –1–2–3–4–
(Work)       –1–2–3–4–
(Money)    –1–2–3–4–
(Dreams)   –1–2–3–4–

I then use numerology here as well but here I use it in two different ways.  I add the number for each row individually to come up with a number for each specific area and then give a numerology read for each row and then I add all the cards in the reading for a number for the year.

Welcome to Tarotscopes for November!  I hope that you all had a wonderful October and that your Samhain and Halloween celebrations were fun and memorable.  This is the first month of the new tarotscopes format and I hope you all enjoy it.  It is quite simply the same and the previous version only rather than being every week you have it for just the month.  Like I said in my update post before things got rolling again in the blog, it was just getting to be very difficult and time consuming to try and do this every week, but the new Tarot for the Week segment, the daily Shadows & Light readings, and then the monthly Tarotscopes should keep you all well guided on your path.    For this first month I have chosen to work with The Bohemian Gothic Tarot, which is becoming quite a regular deck these days.  I had used it quite a bit last summer when I purchased it and then it got tucked away in favor of something else (which I can’t even recall right now) but it’s definitely speaking to me these days!  So I hope you all enjoy your November Tarotscopes!  Don’t forget to click the READINGS tab at the top of the page too to see this month’s reading special!

Tarotscopes for November 2010

Aries Four of Swords (Rx)
Sleep is going to allude you a bit this month as things continue to be busy after the Samhain and Halloween season.  That lull that you might normally experience between Samhain and Yule is not likely to be as comforting or relaxing as it has been in past years and you may find that work and personal responsibility just has you too busy to enjoy any down time.  Be sure to take whatever time you can to rest and keep an eye out for those who can possibly step in and watch over things for you so you can have a day or two of sanity for yourself.  Take a planned day off at some point during the month from work to give yourself a chance to get some sort of rest and time alone.  Don’t spend that day holiday shopping in a busy mall, instead stay home and curl up with a good book.  You’re going to need it.

Taurus  King of Swords (Rx)
This month you might find yourself challenged by people around you that insist you see things their way or no way at all.  Your challenge is going to be learning how to work around these very strong personalities while maintaining your dignity.  The last thing you want to do is find yourself at the holiday dinner table at Thanksgiving getting in a knock down drag out fight with a relative over your different views or beliefs.  Remember that while you may feel that you have the right answers in a situation like this, you have the right answers for you just like the person you’re talking to has the right answers for them.  So while you’re being challenged you’re challenging them at the same time so remember that when you find yourself ready to lock swords in a pointless battle.

Gemini  Ace of Pentacles (Rx)
What may seem like a good financial idea this month may actually turn out to be something that would have been better left alone.  If you find yourself in a position where you’re presented with something that just seems too good to pass up, like the opportunity to buy a new car or may another large purchase with what seems like unbelievable discounts, savings, or loan terms, it is quite likely too good to be true and walking away will be the better option.  You may also find yourself fighting back the urge to do some really early holiday shopping thinking you’re going to get better deals and beat the crowds but you may find that you start going overboard with the spending real fast because you have so much time to shop. This month watching your money is going to be key to avoiding trouble into the end of the year.

Cancer  The Hanged Man
November always seems like a good time to take a bit of a pause; you’re between Samhain and Yule and it’s a bit of an in-between time making it the perfect time to take a solitary moment to reflect and look for new answer to old questions and seek a different perspective on things before going into the mundane New Year.  This is going to be a month where your watery nature is likely to take over for you, so be prepared for a lot of emotional searching and even some enhanced psychic experiences.  When the full moon comes this month it will be a great time for you to work dream magick and draw in some of that otherworldly guidance to help you through the rest of the month.

Leo  Seven of Swords
Somethings sneaky and tricky is afoot this month.  Is it you or is someone else tip toeing around behind your back?  Keep an eye out for people that might be trying to hide something important from you, especially knowledge that might otherwise further something you’re working on (this could be information at work or something at home that might have you trying to plan something for yourself, especially if personal finances are involved).  People who might be trying to sneak around you aren’t all that good at it either but what they are good at is looking cute and innocent when in fact they have some nefarious ideas in their heads.  Don’t seek revenge on those that might be trying to some something to you either.  Better to stop the cycle of negativity than keep it going because it will come back to bite you in the ass later.  Keep your eyes open this month and keep your own hands clean.

Virgo  Two of Pentacles
This month is going to be one giant balancing act, but it’s something that you’re going to be able to do with grace and ease and not too much trouble.  A trusted friend who you can always rely on for advice or help will be there to back you up this month when you feel you really need an extra set of hands.  You might also find that there will be a lingering bit of Samhain energy with you throughout the month of November.  Are there ancestors or spirits that you invited in for the Sabbat that you might not have completely let go of and released?  You might find that by mid-month there’s a need to do a little bit of a house cleansing and blessing; don’t worry, it’s nothing serious, but someone or something has decided to stick around and will be outliving their welcome as the month goes on.  Overall it’s going to be a very busy month but it’s going to be something you welcome with open arms and end up enjoying a great deal!

Libra  Eight of Swords (Rx)
This month you might need to take a little extra caution to be sure that you’re not putting yourself in any tricky positions to either wind up playing silly mind games with people or possibly slipping into a “playing the victim” roll after you realize that something you have been doing isn’t going the way you initially hoped it would.  This is going to be a somewhat difficult month when it comes to dealing with other people and fulfilling your needs and desires as well as theirs.  You might find that it’s easier to try and act a little helpless in hopes of getting them to ease up rather than work extra hard to make things go the right way.  Unfortunately not everyone is going to be on the same page as you and you may very well just end up feeling like you’ve trapped yourself somehow.  Take it easy and be as blunt and open with not only other people around you, but yourself as well, and just say what you mean and mean what you say.  It will keep things from becoming a big tangled mess in the end.

Scorpio  The Star
Off in the distance this month you’ll see the silver lining, the shining and guiding light, just waiting for you to catch up to it.  But it’s going to take a little work and effort on your part to get there.  While things might not come easy this month and you may find yourself having to do some tricky balancing acts and some clever work with your resources, especially financially, you’ll find that you can get through the month without too much upheaval.  The key will be to remain optimistic that things will work themselves out in the end.  The later part of the month is likely to be more peaceful but it’s going to be busy to start.  Keep yourself focused on your goals for the month and as long as you can keep your eye on that you’ll be able to achieve them in the end.  In other words, keep your distractions to a minimum as best you can.

Sagittarius  Seven of Wands
November might prove to be a little tricky for you and you might be feeling like you have to be on the defense quite a bit.  People around you seem to just be out of step with you in the larger scale of things and it may seem like the struggles never seem to quite stop.  Petty arguments may likely be the at the root and cause of everything; don’t be surprised if someone comments on your holiday clothing selection and makes it seem like you’ve somehow ruined the family dinner by your lack of festive attire.  But you know that in the end none of this is anything that either you haven’t been through before or anything that you can’t overcome.  Just don’t get too big of a head and think that you’re always right when you win these little battles.  Being full of yourself isn’t going to win you any friends when it’s all said and done so just take your victory with humble grace and move on to the next things that comes your way.

Capricorn  The World (Rx)

This is not going to be the month for you to take on any final steps of anything big; it’s probably not the best time to make any big changes like moves or signing your life away on anything.  Things this month are going to likely be filled with little setbacks that keep you from being able to hit those final strides in anything you’re working on.  Anything that does come to pass this month is probably going to have a bit of an empty feeling as though the victory should have been much sweeter than it turns out to be.  The important thing to remember here is that no matter what stage things turn out to be in during the month, none of it is ever truly an end.  The World is just a symbol of a time of transition before we return to the point of the path where The Fool once again begins his dance.  So if things don’t turn out exactly as you’d like, know you’ll have other opportunities in the future and remember it’s the lesson gained from the journey that’s most important.

Aquarius  The Tower
Things could get a bit out of hand this month, especially at home and especially if you have any big plans for things at home.  If you’re the one charged with holding the holiday celebrations that are coming up be prepared for just about anything and everything to go wrong; being prepared will help keep things from being so dramatically devastating, but things are just going to feel off at every turn this month.  It’s going to be important to try and keep yourself together though.  With The Tower and the devastation and destruction that it often brings it also carries the power to really make someone come unhinged.  Be sure to take time for yourself this month whenever possible to relax and step back and away from the chaos that’s building around you.  Things will smooth out in December but for this month it’s best to just go into things prepared for the worst but hoping for the best.

Pisces  Six of Pentacles
You may find yourself feeling extra generous this month and somewhat drawn to wanting to help others in a bigger way than you normally do this time of year.  There are people around you that you know who could really use your help right now, maybe not so much financially, but in the way of support of some kind.  It could be helping out and elderly neighbor with things around the home or yard or babysitting for a friend who could really use a night out.  Look for ways that you can share your resources with those around you this month.  With this being the fall season and the colder months are quickly coming in, this month will be the perfect time to clean out your closets looking for clothing, shoes, and jackets that you no longer use or need and donating them to a local shelter (donating to a shelter will ensure someone who really needs them get them as opposed to taking them to Good Will where anyone can come in and purchase them).  Donate to food and toy drives as well this month.  Remember, what you give out always comes back so be as generous as you can this month in all ways that you can to help those who need it.

There are two sides to this card.  You can look at it through the eyes of Death or the eyes of the Maiden.  The Maiden is frightened but she isn’t pulling away.  She knows Death wants something from her but she also desires something from death otherwise she’d find a way to leave.  Is it the comfort of knowing Death is with her?  Is there something about the way Death touches her that has her feeling somewhat comforted?  She may still be frightened but not enough to change her situation.

And what about Death?  Death lacks life and vitality but the Maiden is full of it.  Death can easily prey on her and take what it wants and she willingly gives it.  Does Death seek to drain her at all costs or is Death just trying to get a taste of what the Maiden has to offer?

The key to this card is imbalanced relationships; somewhere you may have a very imbalanced relationship with another that is based on a give and take of extreme proportions.  Are you taking and taking from someone without giving back or are you the one who’s boundaries and trust has been violated yet you refuse to leave the situation?  Someone may tell you over and over that they love you but their actions say otherwise; you feel it deep in your heart that they’re just taking advantage of how you feel for them but yet you worry that if you leave you could be walking away from the one person that really does love you.

Death and the Maiden come through to remind you that you need to stop and look at your relationships and see where there are major imbalances and find ways to fix them.  Are you dealing with someone who is taking from you or are you taking from someone else?  How can you bring balance back into that relationship or is it too far gone to save?  If you can’t find a way to bring things back into balance it is time to let go and leave.  That can be the hardest thing to do but it’s also the noose around your neck that may be keeping you the situation to begin with.  It’s time to make a choice and it’s ultimately your choice to make.

Eclipse Mermaid by Jasmine Becket-Griffith

Under her title on the card it says “A powerful energy shift!“  Much like the strong energy that comes with a full lunar eclipse, we are about to feel an eclipse of sorts in our personal lives.  This is a time when things that are hidden will no longer be able to be kept silent and things will find a way to come out into the open.  This can be a positive time for change but it can also be painful, especially when those changes aren’t invited.  Change comes when it needs to, much like the eclipse happens when the time is right, not when we want it to.  We can’t force a lunar eclipse and we can’t hold back the eclipse in our personal lives.  We have really little choice but to go with the flow just like the mermaid in the card does.  She is letting the energy flow around her and through her without her direction, but she is still mindful and watchful of what is happening.  This is the lesson here for us; we can’t force change to go in one direction or another but we can certainly learn from it and flow with it.

If you’re feeling this tide already just let things flow.  To resist will be be a waste of time and to try and direct the way things go will be a drain on your energy.  What are you hiding from those around you?  Are you trying to keep something from someone else out of fear of how they will respond or react?  Are you struggling to keep your past in the past so those in your life today aren’t affected by it?  Today’s Soul Card on my Facebook page was Communication and the message was about the need to communicate our thoughts and feelings to those around us no matter how fearful we may be of what those around us will say or do.  When we communicate we heal; when we keep secrets we only deepen our wounds.

The Eclipse Mermaid also reminds us that it’s a good time to start looking at the energy tides in our lives and see where it is that we need to shift energy.  She brings us a great gift with her eclipse and her energy tides if we use it for the right reasons.  It’s a time to make changes that might seem a little drastic or make changes to big things that will have long term effects for us such as changes to diet, dealing with major health or medical issues, even working to stop and heal addictions.  By facing what it is that we need to change and shift and then using this chance to do it we have a great support system in the Eclipse Mermaid.  But it’s up to you how you want to use that energy.

Tarotscopes for Monday September 20, 2010 through Sunday, September 26, 2010

Aries  Nine of Earth
A lot of work has gone into something very special and meaningful for you and now you stand firmly in a place of harvest.  This week as you begin to reap the rewards of the work you have done remember to also tend to the “land” and take only as much as you may need for now.  In other words, if you’re standing in line at the bank with a big bonus of commission check, don’t cash the whole thing out and head to the mall.  Do what you need to for now and hang on to the rest to build for your future.

Taurus  Ten of Air (Rx)
Something is holding you back from making the forward motion you have been desiring.  There is something you have been failing to let go of and now it’s almost as if you’re going backward and losing some of the process you had been making.  This week will be a good time to take a look at what you need to release in order to truly move on to the next stage, especially when dealing with people and relationships.  So if you’ve been felling like there’s someone that just needs to be released from your life and you’ve been struggling to do it, this week will open up for you to feel safe to take those steps.

Gemini  Five of Fire (Rx)
Sometimes seems to be irritating you this week and creating an air of anger that you can’t seem to let go of.  It doesn’t seem to be without a lack of trying though, but it has a good hold on you and is making it touch to really reach a turning point where you can move forward.  Over the course of this week pat extra attention to your emotions, and when you find yourself feeling anger rise up, acknowledge it and try to identify the real source of it.  Once you can pinpoint where the feelings are truly coming from rather than just submitting to them you may finally come to a point of being able to let them go.

Cancer  Elder of Air (Rx)
People often look to you to full the need for a voice of reason.  Sometimes it’s because of your inherent wisdom, other times it’s because you just have a wonderful way with words and can bring a sense of levity to most situations with ease.  This week, however, may prove to be one of those “off” weeks where you can’t seem to say the right thing and you find yourself spending a lot of time wondering why you said what you said and trying to find out how to fix it.  Don’t be so hard on yourself and just let go of the miscommunications and move forward.

Leo  Temperance
The power of creation and a strong pull to use and release that energy will be around you this week.  There will be a desire to focus on doing the kinds of spiritual work that can transform yourself and others.  It may come in the form of expressing gratitude or love but it will be a process where something you do for yourself and your own growth will have an impact on those around you.  You will begin to truly realize the power you possess and the true potential of that power if you really focus and apply it.

Virgo  Ace of Earth (Rx)
New opportunities, especially for career moves and improved finances, will being to present themselves this week, however there is a sense of slight fear, a desire to hold back and not explore it.  It is quite possible that the idea of the risk involved is just too scary right now, but if you want to see change come into your life you have to be willing to take the risk to do something different.  Begin to entertain these ideas and explore them in a risk-free way by researching and asking questions.  You don’t have to make solid commitments or changes right off, but don’t completely discount them and remain so tight in your cocoon that you don’t even give yourself a chance.

Libra  The Lovers
Abundance will be around you in all forms this week, especially abundance of the heart.  Approaching this week with an open heart of your own, showing gratitude for the people in your life and expressing your love for them, will provide many opportunities to see those relationships deepen.  This will be a week of growth and abundance by bringing together all the different pieces of the puzzle to make your desires come true.  Friends and loved ones will also be there to help and lend a hand because, believe it or not, the world isn’t against you, it’s in love with you!

Scorpio  Two of Fire (Rx)
A relationship is going to seem horribly out of balance this week and it may feel like there’s no way to get it back on track.  Mostly the issues lie within an overall imbalance of energy; too much fire, too much passion.  How can that be a bad thing?  When you can’t do anything with it it can lead to burn out.  Whether it’s a physical attraction to someone that you shouldn’t or can’t be involved with, or if it’s a matter of passionate disagreements that can’t be settled, when there’s no outlet for the fire it just burns you and the other person up from the inside out.  This week do your best not to hold back and instead put your focus on expressing your true feelings so the balance can come back a little at a time.  You will find that as you open up and let go the other person will slowly follow along.

Sagittarius   The Teacher (Rx)
Sometimes we are being called to do something and we just don’t hear the call, or we may intentionally ignore it.  You’re being called by the Universe to share some of the knowledge and wisdom you have gained so far on this path you’re on but you have been resisting, fearing you either aren’t ready or aren’t “wise” enough, or that you wouldn’t know how to go about it.  You also may be holding too tightly to old ideas, not allowing yourself to create enough space for your own growth to allow you to open up and share with others. Remember, every teacher is also a student so give yourself a chance this week to see what you have to offer others, no matter how small, and make steps to get your wisdom out into the world.

Capricorn  Ten of Fire
Letting go is hard, but letting something you have held on to for a long time be completely destroyed is even harder.  This week, what may seem like a wave of destruction just seems to sweep through your life like a wildfire.  Things seem to be in an upheaval but you need to keep in mind that as things begin a process of unraveling and dying out, a rebirth cycle is sure to follow.  Sometimes in our lives, just like in nature, you need to let things be cleansed and cleared away so room for new growth can be made.  Don’t hold on too tightly to the things burning away otherwise you’re likely to get burned in the process.

Aquarius  Child of Fire (R
From time to time the best way that a child can learn is to learn from their mistakes.  When a child reaches out for the bight, dancing flame of a candle for the first time and burns their hand, they quickly learn the dangers of fire.  Usually.  Some just never seem to learn or it takes many burns to learn the lesson.  This week a lesson that you’ve still been trying to learn is going to come back around again and possibly burn you like it has in the past.  A particularly loyal friend who has likely seen this before for you may be there trying to point the lesson out for you, but you just aren’t hearing them.  If you get burned again this week in an all too familiar way, let it be a sign to you that there is a change that needs to be made and start honoring those lessons by listening.

Pisces  Nine of Fire (Rx)
A little bit of a shift in your spiritual awareness may seem to happen this week and everything may feel a bit upside down.  You may feel particularly disconnected to the Divine and you might feel very stuck and almost too grounded in reality this week.  It may be that the practical day to day needs of the material would are just too strong this week that finding time to connect and really let go of those very real worries just doesn’t seem to happen for you.  This is only a temporary imbalance and a little time paid to those things that are nagging at you in order for you to release them will have you to move forward and bring some balance back later in the week.  In other words, don’t fight it, go with it.

This week we have a lot of court cards that came up and when I see this I usually point this to being a trend that the week will have a lot of issues with dealing with other people during the week.  It can also point to a need to look more at our own selves, as some of this week’s cards indicated, and maybe the answer is to step away from others for a brief time to recollect ourselves and gather our thoughts before dealing with those people and those issues.  This is a week of analysis and awareness; being detailed and conscious of what we say and do with others and then make sure that we take away only what is meant by these interactions rather than reading into them too deeply.  By being fully away of what we’re doing and what we’re saying we have a better chance of not getting into too many messes in the first place.

Aries  The World
If you’ve been working to get something going or get something finished, something creative and important to you, now is the time to do those final bits of work to make your dreams come to fruition.  You’re close to the end and things are looking like they are moving in your favor but you have to move with them.  It will be especially important to bring together the inner and outer, to find a balance within and without in order to get the job done.  The Universe is trying to tell you something: Get up and get things done!

Taurus  Six of Wands
Recent struggles and challenges will all finally work themselves out and in your favor.  If you’ve been dealing with people who have been trying to overpower you and somehow control or direct where you’re going and what you’re doing these days, you’ll suddenly have the power to break free and get out.  When you’re celebrating your victory, be sure to take a moment to take a look at the bigger picture and where you want to go next.  Don’t start aimlessly drifting, instead set a clear course and follow it.

Gemini  Five of Swords
Nobody expects a close friend to suddenly turn into an enemy, but this week friends may begin to seem like enemies as misunderstandings and confusion cause some major communication breakdowns over the course of the week.  Chances are everything is just caused by people not really listening to one another and things can be easily worked out once cooler heads can prevail.  As frustrated as you may be, do your best to listen and keep things from getting worse by diving in and speaking too soon on something.  Let things have time to cool down and even out first.

Cancer  Queen of Cups
This week may prove to be a great time to focus on your journey and your spiritual path.  You may have been looking for some way to explore your path more fully and now is the time to do it, but you need to be open to a deeper spiritual exploration.  Your lessons and challenges here will have to do mostly with facing fears, exploring the Shadowself, and working through difficult things that you may have been trying to avoid.  Working through these difficult aspects of yourself will bring you to a whole new level of understanding of yourself, your path, and your power.

Charging ahead and working to make some wrong things right will seem to be your driving mission this week.  It’s quite possible that this will especially have to do with things in your own life; some things may seem out of whack and change may be the answer.  A change of routine to help get out of a rut may be the answer and could help give you some new perspectives on this this week.  Just be careful not to try and take on too much at once and know that all sustainable change happens in small bits.

This week you may find yourself feeling especially sensitive and somewhat protective of your emotions.  While you can’t stay home and hide all week it may be in your best interest to work to keep yourself out of situations where you may be easily at risk for being triggered and exposing those raw emotions.  Take time out this week to meditate and nurture yourself and explore why you may be feeling so sensitive and vulnerable.  There may be a lot more to it than you think and there could be some chances to work with some deeper aspects of the self in the process.

Over the course of this week you may find that the best way to handle everything that pops up in your way is to have a calm, realistic, and practical approach without doing anything too radical.  The phrase for the week is “don’t rock the boat”.  Instead you want to be on a firm course of doing all you can in any challenging situations with others this week to keep things as calm as possible and work things out as quickly as possible.  Don’t try and do something new and “adventurous” and instead stick with what you know and what works.  You may also find that paying attention to your health this week proves helpful in preventing a more serious problem over the course of the month.

This week you may find yourself in a position of having to be the diplomat with friends and coworkers.  Do your best to listen to all sides before sharing your thoughts.  You may also find yourself drawn to do some study and exploration this week, especially when it comes to topics of healing and growth.  Follow your instincts and look into what call to your heart.  You have a natural ability to work with healing so finding ways to work with it and put it to use will be beneficial now and in the future.

Sagittarius   The Magician
It’s time to fully realize your power and strength and the ability you have within to make change for yourself and for others around you.  You may feel like you lack the ability to really change your path at this point but in fact you have all the tools you need, the problem is finding the will power to follow through to completion and the confidence to do what you desires.  This week start to realize your ability to create the life you desires and start taking the steps to make it happen.

Sometimes power of intellect can become a bit of a curse.  We can be so smart, so cunning, and so witty that we end up unknowingly using that power against other people to gain control over them, over a situation, or to just get whatever it is that we desires.  This week be mindful of using your intellect, especially in the form of spoken word, with others; do you put people down, control them or hold them back without realizing it by the way you speak to them?  If you find there are certain people who you do this to without being aware of it, work to make a change and begin dealing with them more as an equal rather than as a superior.

Aquarius  Queen of Pentacles
The theme of the week for you will be focused on things within the home.  If you have been spending a lot of time out of the house and out on the town, this week will be a perfect time to focus on having more time at home.  Spend some time cleaning up and adding more beauty to the home and really making it a reflection of who you are and who you wish to be.  Make it your castle.  If you have a yard or outdoor space, care for that as well this week; if you don’t, bring in some potted plants and flowers to your city dwelling and honor Mother Nature in your home by caring for a piece of her right there.

One of the lessons of life that we often miss is also one of the most painful: “You must suffer to learn.”  Some of the biggest and most rewarding lessons we learn in life involve heartbreak, loss, and sacrifice.  Sometimes finding the good or learning the lesson in that is a challenge and can take years to find.  If you’ve been dealing with a loss or emotional challenge lately, you can begin to heal by finding the lesson in what has happened.  By finding that, acknowledging it, and working with it, you can slowly begin the process of being able to heal and move forward with grace and ease.

Help may come from an unlikely source this week, especially when you’re not looking for it.  The seas may seem a little rocky this week but someone who may be younger and more of a quiet “in the background” type comes to your aid with support and love when they see you’re struggling.  Your challenge will be accepting that support without questioning their motives or their ability to truly help you without you being condescending to them because of their age or perceived lack of experience in life.  This person will surprise you in more ways than one!

You’ve come to a point now in your path where it’s time to start looking at other ways to handle situations that may challenge you from a less “head first” perspective.  Rather than going into everything with brute force intending to overpower others you’re dealing with, it’s time to consider more logical, planned, thought out action.  This week, rather than dealing with things with a solider mentality, running in to do battle, do things from the place of an emperor as someone who knows how to do battle and who’s been through the war before but who’s gained the wisdom and knowledge to deal with their opponents from a more peaceful angle.  Take the higher road this week in arguements and struggles with friends and coworkers and you’ll feel better about things in the end.

This week is a great week to take a moment to sit back and enjoy to things in your life that bring you true happiness, especially family and friends.  It takes a lot of work to keep families and groups of friends together and happy and you have a natural ability to nurture these relationships in your life.  Not everyone in your life might need this sort of tending to and you may not always feel driven to be the one that holds things together, but when you are in the mindset of wanting to care for those around you in a “motherly” way you give it all you’re got.  So it’s about time you sit back and just enjoy these relationships and all they give to you in return.  And if this week you have kids going back to school, feel proud seeing them off and know you’ve done the best you can to prepare them for this next page in their lives.

Leo  King of Wands
Fire and passions will ignite this week, especially in the creative mind, but you’ll need to be willing to actually put in the time and effort to making them provide something tangible.  Sometimes it can be so easy for us to just sit back and come up with some great ideas for things that we would like to do or wonderful plans for the next great invention that the world needs, but if we don’t actually get up and do something about it the idea itself is useless to us.  Make sure that if you find yourself coming up with some great idea that you just can’t seem to push aside this week that you do something with it and make something happen rather than sit on it letting it go nowhere.  Let your natural, bold and fiery Leo nature give you that push to do what you need to do.

There’s a reason that the poor often stay poor and the rich get richer and it comes from their mental projection of their circumstance.  This week try and keep in mind the basic ideas that often come into place with the Law of Attraction; you get back what you put out there, especially in the way of thoughts.  If you think yourself poor, you make yourself poor.  If you think you never have enough to be happy or comfortable, then you’ll find that no matter what you never feel like you have what you truly need to be happy.  You can easily begin to turn your luck and fortune around by letting your mind put the right vibes out there and then the Universe with follow through with what you think into existence.  It’s not an easy transition to make, but it’s one that you will find, once you get into the habit of doing, you will begin to see and feel the results of.

Things that you have been working away at are finally going to start to come to fruition and to an end that will give you a little bit of a reprieve, at least long enough to catch your breath before the next big thing comes along to occupy your mind and time.  There may be a few small glitches in the process of this during the week, especially if getting paid for something you’ve been doing is part of the closure part of things this week (be prepared for a possible delay there).  Even with any delays you’ll find that your efforts will be rewarded well and that you will really feel like you’ve done some great work to be proud of.

Don’t be surprised if you find yourself having to be the one that does the most work and take on the most struggles this week both at the workplace and at home.  If you’re dealing with kids going back to school this week you can be sure that they will be anything but helpful around the home; at work you may find that everyone is a bit distracted and they turn to you for a little extra help and support.  You’ll do fine with all of this but you may begin to feel that by the end of the week you need someone to come in and help you stay upright because you’ve stretched yourself so thin.  Being strong also means knowing your limits so if you have to say no to someone, don’t feel guilty.  Just know that you’d be of no use to them anyway if you pass out from exhaustion.

You have the power to really do a lot of good this week with really well placed words and thoughts, especially if you find yourself in a position where you have to be the one to moderate a problem in the workplace or be the one to keep things from exploding in a heated situation with friends.  This week you’re power of calm control and rightly placed words will be key to preventing a possibly explosive situation from being set off.  It’s important to remember that having your feet firmly planted on the ground and keeping your head out of the clouds this week will keep you able to see things from a clear perspective and that will help you to really see just when you may be needed to help out those around you this week.  You’ll find that being fair and logical will be the best approach but don’t allow yourself to be too cold or too calculated.  Listen to your emotions as well and let your intuition guide you a bit as well, but know that in the end it’s your ability to really sort things out and put everyone in order that will be at work here.

This week you might find yourself feeling a bit frustrated with those around you, especially in situations where you are doing what you believe to be is your best at asserting yourself and trying to get your points across in a kind and congenial way.  The problem is it’s possible many people really don’t take you seriously, especially in the given situation you may find yourself in, because in the past you may have done a good job at distancing yourself from similar things or seeming as though you don’t care about the outcome.  So, for example, if this is the week you decide to step up at work and take charge of a department meeting when every other week you’ve shown up late and spend the whole meeting with your nose buried in your phone sending emails and text messages, don’t be surprised that nobody really jumps up to listen to what you may be trying to say.  Let this be a sign for you for the future and begin to show your interest and emotions instead of always trying to be the impartial observer.

Aquarius  Queen of Cups
Over the course of this week it might be helpful for you to spend time reflecting on your emotions and how your emotions impact you on a deeper level, especially when it comes to your health.  Our emotions can really have a big role in whether or not we recover quickly from an illness or injury.  We also know that we can easily fall into illness when we let negative emotions and stress rule our lives.  If you find yourself feeling extra tired this week, run down and like you’re starting to feel sick, take a little time to think about how you’re doing emotionally and pay attention to any cues you may get from that.  It’s possible that a stressful situation at work or in a relationship is just draining too much energy from you and by clearing away any negativity tied to that and turning your emotions around into a positive direction could bring you to a healthier you as well.

Pisces  Two of Cups
Sometimes we can give and give and give to someone really close to us and it seems that they are never quite satisfied and they still come looking for more.  This can be in the sense of help in the physical world, like the friend who’s always asking to borrow money or who seems to only ever ask for you a ride, or it can be in the way of emotions because somehow you’re the only one who could possibly ever understand this person and their problems.  Giving and caring for those around us is an important part of life but you need to remember that the give and take of a relationship should go both ways, not one person always giving and the other always selfishly taking.  This week you may find yourself in a position of having to reevaluate a close friendship because of these very issues.  You may find that putting a little distance between you both for a time will help but you may end up needing to end the relationship altogether.  Don’t feel bad and know that you need to care for yourself too!  Your life can’t always be about the needy people around you.
